Join us for the closing of Poor Man’s Paradise, an exhibition that has celebrated the improvisational spirit of Maxwell Street and the powerful work of outsider artists who carry that spirit forward.
For the past several weeks, Project Onward has brought together artwork by our artists with shop signs, street worn objects, and handmade relics that once made up the fabric of the Market, generously loaned by the Maxwell Street Foundation. The result has been a conversation across time, between artists often overlooked and a marketplace where value was never fixed.
This final gathering is a chance to revisit the stories, share reflections, and honor the past and present communities that have shaped this Poor Man’s Paradise.
