At 6018North, we challenge what art is, whom it’s for, and where and how it’s created. Founded in 2011, 6018North is an artist-centered, sustainable, non-profit platform and venue for innovative art and culture. Our projects – from site-specific installations to performances and communal events – take place in 6018North's dilapidated mansion in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood, across the City, and beyond. At home and away in other non-traditional spaces, we incubate multidisciplinary, experimental work that allows artists and audiences to connect in transformative ways. As a nimble, home-grown lab we collaborate with artists to incubate, model, and experiment with new ways of advancing and sustaining Chicago's artist community and the public through creative encounters.
